Meet Mary Catherine

Mary Catherine is a compassionate and experienced Licensed Clinical Social Worker who holds her Master’s degree from Aurora University. With a diverse background in hospitals, schools, and private practice, she has honed her skills in providing therapeutic support to individuals from all walks of life. Mary Catherine is also a dedicated Oncology Social Worker at Northwestern Medicine Cancer Center.

Mary Catherine has extensive experience in assisting individuals who are navigating various challenges in their lives. She is adept at working with those managing multiple stressors, processing childhood traumas, grappling with anxiety and/or depression, understanding and managing symptoms of OCD, coping with cancer or other health diagnoses, and dealing with terminal illnesses. Additionally, Mary Catherine is skilled at creating a safe and supportive space for school-age children, empowering them to effectively manage their emotions and develop essential coping mechanisms.

Therapeutic Approach

Recognizing the uniqueness of each client, Mary Catherine tailors her approach to meet their specific needs. She values the importance of forming a collaborative partnership with her clients, fostering a non-judgmental environment conducive to growth and healing. Her treatment modalities include Mindfulness-based therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Play Therapy, Exposure Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.

Outside of her professional endeavors, Mary Catherine finds joy in spending quality time with her family and friends, exploring new destinations through travel, listening to audio books, and advocating for social justice.
